Halef Koklerin Cagrisi in English Subtitles: Story, Cast & Official Details

Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı is a Turkish drama about family roots, love, loyalty and the pressure of inherited conflict. It follows Serhat, a successful surgeon who leaves his hometown to build a life in Istanbul. When he has to return to Şanlıurfa, his personal choices become tied to a feud between two established families.

The series premiered on NOW in Türkiye on September 18, 2025. Its second season began on September 24, 2026, and NOW lists new episodes for Thursdays at 20:00 Türkiye time. This Turkish123 guide brings together the confirmed story, cast, production details, release information and English subtitle update.

What is Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı about?

Serhat is a surgeon who challenges the future his birthplace seems to have set for him. He secretly marries Melek, the woman he loves, and tries to make a separate life in Istanbul. But events soon bring him back to Urfa, where his family’s history and a blood feud between two powerful families shape what happens next.

The feud creates pressure for Serhat to marry Yıldız as part of an attempt to bring peace between the families. His return changes him from a doctor focused on his career into a figure expected to carry family power and responsibility. When Melek arrives at the family mansion, Serhat must face the secrets and tensions surrounding both women and their families.

The official premise is built around a difficult question: can Serhat choose his own path when family history, local expectations and old conflicts keep drawing him back? The drama uses the landscape and traditions of Şanlıurfa as part of that conflict. Its title, Köklerin Çağrısı, can be translated as “the call of the roots,” reflecting the pull of family and home that drives Serhat’s story.

Season 2 story update

The second season continues after a major wedding crisis. According to NOW’s official episode 36 summary, Yıldız disappears after an accident and begins living inside a false version of her life. Serhat leaves everything behind to search for her. Her absence also creates a power gap at the mansion, which Akif hopes to use.

At the same time, Ziyan Ağa blames Serhat for his daughter’s death and openly moves against him. He forms a temporary alliance with Sadullah Taşkesen, while Aşır and Meryem remain part of the tense agreement. The new season therefore carries forward the series’ central mix of family power, love and unresolved conflict.

This is a current season update, not a prediction about how the story will end. NOW’s official episode summaries provide the confirmed developments as new episodes air.
